Blogger Challenge: Week 137
This week’s blogger challenge is a color challenge using red, white, and black. I went for a clean and simple Valentine’s Day card using the challenge colors.
I used a sentiment stamp from Unity’s January Kit of the Month as my focal image. I stamped the image twice, once on a white panel and again on a scrap of red cardstock. I cut out just the heart from the red panel and attached it to the matching spot on the white panel. This created just a bit of contrast—a fun pop against the mostly white cardfront.
I layered the sentiment on a black panel, then added a small red punched border with heart shapes underneath it. I had room for a piece of knotted red grosgrain ribbon to the left of the sentiment.
For more ideas using this color combination, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right.
Materials Used:
January Kit of the Month (Unity Stamp Co.); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); white cardstock (Xerox); Riding Hood Red and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); arrow border punch (EK Success)
