Blogger Challenge: Week 143/Friends with Flair
This week’s blogger challenge theme was spring. I used a flower image, colored in bold, bright tones, for my spring card.
I used the flower image from Unity’s January Stampin’ Store Kit, Livin’ and Lovin’ Life, for my focal image. The flower is stamped in black ink and colored with Copic markers. I trimmed around the image outline, getting a box shape. I stamped the image a second time and colored just the flower section of the image, then cut it out. It’s attached to the image panel with foam tape, providing an easy to achieve, dimensional, out of the box look. The flower is dotted with some Gold Pearl Liquid Pearls—they add a nice little bit of sparkle.
The rest of the card is pretty simple. I ran a strip of Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety designer paper along the left edge of the card base, then layered the matted image at the side of the strip. I slipped a red faux suede ribbon tab underneath the left edge of the image and attached the “thanks” sentiment panel at the lower right edge. A coordinating button fills in some of the empty space at the bottom of the sentiment panel. A little paper piercing around the corner of the image completes the card.
For more spring ideas, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, you can check out the full list of Friends with Flair players on the Unity blog for more Unity inspiration.
