A Sweet Little Birdie Told Me
Here’s a quick card based on this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I paired two bold, bright patterned papers with a cute felt birdie for a sweet spring-feeling card.
The felt bird came from a bin of Easter-themed dollar felt items at Michaels. I used the bird’s bright yellow color as a jumping off point and paired it with papers from DCWV’s Flower Shower mat stack in warm reds and yellows. I found a red felt flower in my collection and embellished with a tiny yellow button. The button is set alongside the chick as a fun accent.
A strip of yellow grosgrain ribbon runs down the front of the card, separating the two patterns. I stamped the “a little birdie told me” sentiment from the Best Bunnies stamp set from Clear & Simple Stamps in red ink on a strip of yellow cardstock and accented it with a row of paper piercing. The sentiment runs across the card and its end is tucked under the ribbon for a clean look.
Materials Used:
Best Bunnies stamp set, button (Clear & Simple Stamps); Riding Hood Red Classic ink, Riding Hood Red and Barely Banana cardstock, So Saffron grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); designer paper (DCWV-Flower Shower matstack); felt chick (Michaels); felt flower (Prima); twine (Papertrey Ink)
