Birthday Girl (Friday)

While I’m waiting for my newest Pure Innocence images to arrive from My Favorite Things, I thought I’d pull out one of my other sets for this week’s MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch.

I used the little girl and coordinating sentiment from the My Balloon set for my card. The girl is colored with Copic markers. I curved the coordinating sentiment when I placed it on my clear block so that it would be aligned with the curve of the image panel when stamped.

I chose the colors for the image to coordinate with the sweet patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Girl Friday line that covers most of the cardfront. I matted the patterned paper on a pale pink panel—and cut the round mat for the image from this panel to get more mileage from my papers. I made my own felt embellishment by cutting a piece of pink felt with a Nestabilities die, then adding a button with a twine bow to the center.

Materials Used:
My Balloon stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Pink Pirouette cardstock, Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist button, twine (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (Cosmo Cricket-Girl Friday line); circle, Nested Blossom dies (Nestabilities); sewing machine
