Gumbo Loves You
I made this square card for this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. It features Gumbo, another of the characters from the new DoodleFactory Creatures 2 set just released from Starving Artistamps.
I colored Gumbo with Copic markers in soft shades of blue. I used a craft knife to cut a slit under one of Gumbo’s arms so that he could hold a cutout heart image, stamped with an image from the DoodleFactory Sweets N Hearts set. He’s layered on a coordinating soft blue mat.
I used the same heart image to create the coordinating tone on tone patterned paper behind the image panel. The image was stamped repeatedly, rotating it with each stamped image to add interest. I used a sentiment from the All About Love sentiment set. Instead of stamping the word “love,” I omitted it and used a heart brad in its place.
If you want to take some Creatures home for yourself, don't forget that you can always use the code savetenLT to save 10% on your DoodleFactory and Starving Artistamps stamp purchases at Starving Artistamps.
Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Creatures 2, DoodleFactory Sweets N Hearts, and All About Love sets (Starving Artistamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Soft Sky, Pretty in Pink, and Regal Rose cardstock, Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!);Hawaiian Shores ink (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (DCWV-Madly in Love Stack); circle dies (Nestabilities); 1” and 1 ¼” circle punches (EK Success); heart brad (Making Memories); foam tape
