So Cherry Sweet
Here's my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I went for a cheery look since I need a little cheering up this morning after Wisconsin's loss last night in the college hockey national championship game.
The focal image is from Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits set. The cherry stems are stamped in Ripe Avocado ink on a cream panel. A pair of red buttons, threaded with some twine, are attached at the bottom of the stems. I made sure leave enough room when I stamped the image so that I could stamp the coordinating sentiment along the bottom of the panel.
I used a piece of green textured paper from the DCWV Farmers Market Stack to cover most of the kraft card base. The smaller green panels match the lighter green shade in the patterned paper. I embossed them with a small dot pattern to match the polka dots on the paper and on the leaves in the image. To add a little interest, I pleated one end of the red grosgrain ribbon strip that runs across the center of the kraft panel at the center of the card. I rummaged through my embellishment stash and found some red rhinestones and added those as an accent to finish the card.
Materials Used:
Everyday Button Bits, Ripe Avocado ink, Ripe Avocado cardstock, Pure Poppy buttons, twine (Papertrey Ink); Kraft, Real Red, and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); designer paper (DCWV's Farmers Market Stack); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); oval dies (Nestabilities); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); red rhinestones (KaiserCraft); foam tape
