Your Birthday Popped Up

Clear & Simple Stamps is sponsoring this week’s challenge at Oh, Alice, an Alice in Wonderland inspired challenge blog. There’s a great prize up for grabs, so you’ll want to be sure to check it out. This week’s challenge is based on the Queen’s missing tarts and requires that you create a project that incorporates food.

I made an easel card featuring one of my all-time favorite snack foods—popcorn! I paired two Clear & Simple Stamps sets, Bucket-o-Popcorn Fun and Popcorn Extras on the card. The overflowing popcorn bucket and a trio of fallen pieces are stamped on the card’s large panel. I masked the single piece and stamped it a few times to get the clustered look. The images are colored with Copic markers. I accented the panel with a black button, threaded with a scrap of red grosgrain ribbon.

I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Popcorn Extras set in black on a bold yellow panel. The panel is edged with a black scalloped strip. The popcorn theme is a perfect match for an easel card with the way the image panel pops up when the card is opened and leans against the stand created by the scored lines.

Materials Used: Bucket-o-Popcorn and Popcorn Extras stamp sets, Perfect Little Black Dress ink, A Blanc Check, Dare to Be a Diva Red, and Say Yellow to All Your Fans cardstock, button (Clear & Simple Stamps); markers (Copic); Real Red grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!)
