Cute as a Button

Here’s a sewing-inspired card with no sewing for this week’s Hip Hop sketch challenge. I used both a sewing themed sentiment and sewing themed papers for this cute card.

The “cute as a button” sentiment from Unity’s April Stampin’ Store Kit, Stuck on You, is my focal image. It’s stamped in brown ink on a cream oval panel. I went with cream to match the tones of the colors in the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl papers I combined for the panels on the cardfront. I went with measuring tape and button patterned ones here on a kraft background. A piece of red silk ribbon is tied around the top of the card. I added a button at the center of the bow to match the sentiment. The button is closer in color to the ribbon and not as orange as it looks in the photo—I promise!

Just a quick Chloe the cutie puppy update from this afternoon--I took her to the vet for a shot and she weighed in at 28 pounds! The vet who runs the practice came out to the reception area while she was in the back getting her shot, looked at me, and asked, "Is that your crazy back there?" All I could do was nod my head. Maybe I'll have to start calling her Chloe the crazy puppy . . . How in the world did I manage to end up with not one but two crazies??
