Masculine Mint Motif

Happy Saturday! I’m looking forward to spending the long weekend relaxing at home. Chloe the cutie puppy and I are off once again to puppy kindergarten class. Hopefully she’ll be a better listener this week—LOL! She's had a tummy bug for the last few days, so maybe that will help tone down her (mis)behavior in class . . . Anyway, before I go, I thought I'd share a clean and simple masculine card made for this week's CAS-Tastic Wednesday "touch of green" challenge featuring images from the Mint Motif Very Square and Very Square Sentiments stamp sets available exclusively at i {heart} papers.

I stamped one of the square images 4 times on a dark blue panel using matching dark blue ink for a tone on tone look. I trimmed around the edges of this square and wrapped a piece of twill around the panel. To secure the twill, I wrapped a piece of jute rope around the edge and added a brown button as an embellishment.

The stamped panel is layered on a green kraft panel, then on a square kraft card base. I stamped the same patterned block image on a scrap of kraft cardstock in brown ink, stamped off once, then punched out a section of the image with a square punch. I stamped one of the sentiments over the patterned piece in blue ink. The sentiment is layered on a piece of green kraft cardstock, then attached to the card with foam dots.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Mint Motif Very Square and Very Square Sentiments stamp sets, Alexx Kesh jute natural rope, Zva Creative foam dots

other: Enchanted Evening ink, Enchanted Evening cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Kraft Like a Rockstar Green cardstock, Dish All the Dirt Brown button (Clear & Simple Stamps); Soft Suede ink, Kraft cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); twill (Martha Stewart)
