Blogger Challenge: Week 155

This week’s blogger challenge is to create a Father’s Day project. I came up with a super sweet Father’s Day card using one of the new Chicken Girl Design images released yesterday at i {heart} papers. I won’t be giving this to my dad, but it’s going to be going to my best friend’s husband from her two little boys.

I printed the digi image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. I picked the colors to coordinate with the stripes on the Upsy Daisy designer paper I used to cover most of the cardfront. It’s hard to see in the photo, but I added dots of Glossy Accents to the dad dog’s glasses to make them look like they’re made of glass.

I kept the embellishments simple since this is a masculine card. I used a strip of brown faux suede ribbon (great for guy cards!) underneath the image, extending a little beyond the edge of the card to add interest. I accented the ribbon with a pair of stacked buttons, held together with some jute rope. A little white gel pen faux stitching on the panel underneath the image finishes off the card.

For more Father’s Day projects, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right.
