Hope Your Birthday's a Splash

***Scroll down to the post below to see my card for this month's i {heart} papers DT challenge and a big announcement from IHP!***

Here’s my card for this week’s Our Craft Lounge sketch challenge. I paired an image from the Beach Days set with the sketch for a summery creation.

I stamped the little girl image on a white panel and colored her and the sand beneath her feet with Copic markers. The sky was airbrushed in around her after I finished coloring the image. She’s layered on a panel with two different pieces of October Afternoon’s Thrift Shop designer paper. I added a clear yellow button, tied with some jute rope, as an accent at the lower left corner of the image.

To go with the dots on the image and in the patterned paper, I embossed the top section of the cardfront with a Polka Dot embossing folder. A strip of designer paper, edged with some matching pretty yellow velvet scallop edged trim, is underneath the embossed section. I layered the image panel on to the cardfront and slipped a panel, cut with a Nestabilities Labels 9 die, underneath the side of the image panel for the birthday sentiment.
