Sending You a Little Happy

I inked up my Unity May Kit of the Month for the first time for this cute card for this week's SCS sketch challenge. It was a pretty dreary, drizzly day here, so I went for some bright colors to bring a little cheer into my day.

I colored directly on the stamp with markers to get the multi colored image. The image is cut with an oval Nestabilities die. I decided to cover the top of the parachute image with some Smooch shimmer stuff--not a good call, since the marker is water-soluble. The image got a little runny . . . Oh, well--lesson learned!

I paired the image with some bright patterned papers from the DCWV Citrus matstack. Instead of using a straight edged panel for the panel at the top of the card, I cut a piece of turquoise cardstock with my Top Note die for a fun, fancy edge. The matching sentiment is stamped on the patterned paper in red ink to stand out against the striped pattern.

Gotta go pay attention to Chloe the cutie puppy now. She's losing the big teeth from the back of her mouth now (I stepped on one biggie last night!) and her new "big girl" teeth are growing in and all of that is making her kind of ornery and super chompy . . .

Materials Used:
May Kit of the Month (Unity Stamp Co.); Real Red Classic ink, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Yoyo Yellow markers, Real Red, Barely Banana, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White cardstock, Top Note die (Stampin' Up!); London Fog marker (Memento); Citrus matstack designer paper (DCWV); oval dies (Nestabilities); Smooch Illuminate Top Coat
