The Sky's the Limit

Here's my card for this week's Paper Craft Planet sketch challenge. Kim's designed a great sketch featuring a slanted focal image panel.

I made a simple scene using images and dies from Papertrey Ink. I cut a trio of clouds from a blue panel, then layered the cut panel over a plain white one using foam tape to create a fun sky background. One of the hot air balloons from the Up, Up and Away set is set over the scene using foam tape, too. I cut the balloon with the coordinating die and colored it with Copic markers in blues and greens.

I stamped one of the coordinating sentiments on a square panel in turquoise ink. A trio of brads fills in the empty space left under the words.

I used a dotted paper from the Green Boutique paper pack across the front of the green card base, bordered with pale blue to match the sky panel. I added a row of paper piercing along the bottom edge of the dotted panel as a simple accent.

If you get a chance to play along, upload your card to the PCP gallery using the keyword sk060510 so it can be added to the album with the rest of this week's creations.

Materials Used:
Up, Up and Away stamp set, New Leaf cardstock, Green Boutique patterned paper, cloud and balloon dies (Papertrey Ink); Tempting Turquoise Classic ink, Bashful Blue and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); green brads (Making Memories); foam tape
