A Tie for Dad

This week's 3d Tuesday challenge on Paper Craft Planet was a fun and timely one. Amy shared directions for making an adorable tie shaped box that would be perfect for using as a box for presenting a Father's Day gift.

I made my own version of the box using the template. Instead of using patterned paper for the box, I used solid dark brown cardstock for both the box top and bottom. I cut some striped patterned paper in earthy color tones to cover just the top of the box.

I used the Label 1 die from Clear and Simple Stamps to cut a brown and a gray label shape to decorate the front. I stamped the outline frame image in brown ink, then added the "thank you dad" sentiment from the Dad and Me set inside. The labels are layered and attached to the bottom of the tie. A brown button with twine threaded button holes serves as a simple accent.

I'll be hosting the challenge this upcoming week, so be sure to stop by PCP's 3D Tuesday group to check it out.

Materials Used:
Dad and Me stamp set, Dish All the Dirt Brown and You're Such a Gray-cious Host cardstock, Label 1 die, Dish All the Dirt Brown button (Clear & Simple Stamps); Addison designer paper (SEI); Dark Chocolate ink, twine (Papertrey Ink)
