I'm getting ready to head off to a late afternoon barbeque on this stormy day. Before I go, I thought I'd post my card for today's SCS featured stamper challenge--and a photo of Chloe the cutie puppy if you keep on reading to the end of the post! I loved the clean and simple cards in Nicki's gallery and was inspired by
this one.
My card uses pretty much the same layout as the original. I made adjustments to the colors and images to fit my own style. I'm not a big flourish stamper, so I replaced the flourish image with a leafy branch from Papertrey Ink's Turning a New Leaf stamp set. The branch is stamped in green on a kraft panel.
Instead of a single layered flower, I added a pair of bold pink flowers from the Beautiful Blooms II set to the branch. Each flower has a matching pink rhinestone at the center. I stamped a thank you sentiment from the Asian Fusion set in the lower left corner in pink ink to match the flowers.
I placed a green border punched strip across the top edge of the card, then added a strip of pleated pink satin ribbon along the top of the border punch. I used my sewing machine to stitch the pleated strip in place.
While I was working on the card, Chloe the cutie puppy was sleeping soundly, recovering from our morning walk in the heat and humidity. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see that her head's resting on a box filled with SU! wheels. Behind her back is my air compressor that I use with my Copic airbrush tool. Nothing like making yourself comfortable . . .
Materials Used:
Turning a New Leaf, Beautiful Blooms II, and Asian Fusion stamp set, Ripe Avocado and Raspberry Fizz inks, Simply Chartreuse cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Kraft cardstock (Stampin' Up!); pink satin ribbon (Michaels); pink self adhesive rhinestones (Darice); Apron Lace border punch (Fiskars); sewing machine
You can really see how big she has gotten. The only thing it doesn't show is her personality.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can not believe how big Chloe has gotten, she's huge!!!
