Blogger Challenge: Week 159/Friends with Flair

This week’s blogger challenge is an inspiration challenge based on a photo of a bedroom fromPottery Barn. The patchwork quilt on the bed caught my eye with its fun, blocked patterns, so I based my card on that idea.

I used two small rectangle Nestabilities dies to cut pieces from a bunch of different My Mind’s Eye patterned papers with similar color schemes. I pieced the rectangles together to form a rectangle shape and stitched them in place using my sewing machine to form a quilt-like panel. The quilted panel is layered on a larger white rectangle to mimic the white border around the quilt in the inspiration photo. For a fun border, I attached some coordinating pom pom trim around the edges.

I thought the quote from the Naturally You half of Unity’s May Stampin’ Store Kit was a great fit for my pieced together patchwork quilt. It’s stamped in blue ink to match the card base and accented with some delicate pink crepe ribbon tied in a bow.

For more projects based on the inspiration photo, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, check out the Friends with Flair list on the Unity blog.
