I started by stamping the adorable puffy sheep image on a white cardstock scrap, then embossing it with a polka dotted embossing folder. I cut out the stamped and embossed image and added a little color with Copic markers. The sheep was spritzed with some shimmer spray for just a little sparkle, then it was set on a simple background.
Materials Used:
Polka Dot Pals stamp set (There She Goes Clear Stamps); ); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Sparkle Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Baja Breeze Classic ink, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Pumpkin Pie cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle dies (Nestabilities); Polka Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug); grass border punch (Martha Stewart); orange grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); foam tape
And, on the topic of clean and simple cards, here’s my card for Lesson 2 from the Clean and Simple Stamping group on Paper Craft Planet. This week’s lesson involved paper piecing an open line image on a 3 ½” by 5” card.
I used this sweet tree trio image from Unity’s December Stampin’ Store Kit. The tree trunks are paper pieced with a scrap of Basic Grey’s Basics-Kraft designer paper. The tree tops are paper pieced with a dotted green My Mind’s Eye paper. I used a different My Mind’s Eye paper for the teeny, tiny red heart on each tree—those were not fun to cut out! To add interest, two of the tree tops are attached to the white card base using foam tape. I stamped the “missing you” sentiment in black ink at the bottom of the card.
