Other than (unsuccessfully) attempting to engage my sister's dog in some form of play, her favorite beach activities have been gathering a bunch of seaweed in her mouth and shaking her head wildly to make the seaweed scatter everywhere and digging deep holes in the sand to lie in and cool off. She staked out a spot under the beach umbrella and worked hard to dig a hole just big enough for her body. I have a few photos of her from today--sorry they're not really edited (I'm not working on my regular computer). These were taken while she was lying under the umbrella, so they're a little shadowy.

Star Spangled Day
As the Fourth of July wraps up, I have one more celebratory card to share. It's a super simple one layer card design, kind of based on the card I shared for my Friday's Blogger Challenge project, and inspired by this week's one-layer Wednesday challenge to stamp a patriotic card.

I stamped one of the flourishes from the Kitchen Sink Stamps set in silver ink. It's surrounded by a trio of different sized solid stars from the Playful Stars set in a mix of red and blue.
To complete the card, I stamped the "have a star-spangled day" sentiment at the bottom of the card in red ink, accented with a single silver brad.
Materials Used:
Swirly Hearts & Stars, Playful Stars, and Ready 4 Any Holiday stamp sets (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Real Red and Night of Navy Classic inks (Stampin' Up!); white cardstock (Xerox); silver brad (Making Memories)
As I said earlier today, Chloe the cutie puppy and I spent the day at the beach. She's been having a great time playing in the sand and dancing around the shoreline. She's not quite sure about the moving water in the bay just yet, but she will dip her feet in and splash around some.
