Blogger Challenge: Week 165/Friends with Flair
This week’s blogger challenge theme is back to school. I created a clean and simple back to school card using images from some Unity kits.
I love this school house image from last August's Kit of the Month--it’s just too cute! I stamped it on a scrap of white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out. I wanted to set it on a simple scene, so I built one using an aqua paper panel. To add a school-themed accent, I used a spiral edge punch across the top of the panel. I used a border punch to create the grass strip that runs across the front of the card. The school house is attached to the cardfront with some foam tape. I stamped the “sending you a little happy” sentiment from the May 2010 Kit of the Month on the grass strip in black ink and added an aqua button as a simple accent.
For more back to school themed projects, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, check out the Friends with Flair list on the Unity blog.
Materials Used:
August 2009 and May 2010 Kits of the Month (Unity Stamp Co.); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Simply Chartreuse cardstock, Library Ledger patterned paper, Hawaiian Shores button (Papertrey Ink); Crumb Cake cardstock, spiral edge punch (Stampin’ Up!); grass border punch (Martha Stewart); twine (The Cat’s Pajamas); foam tape
