Here’s my card for this week’s Unity Addicts challenge. This week’s challenge was to use black, white, and one other color.

When I made this card I had just gotten my August Kit of the Month and wanted to try it out right away. The large “love” sentiment caught my eye, so I knew I’d go with black, white, and red to match the sentiment. The sentiment combo is stamped in Real Red ink on a white circle panel. I stamped the heart separately on a scrap of white and cut it out to add it to the side of the sentiment panel using foam tape. It’s accented with a black button, tied with some twine.
I used a piece of black and white patterned paper to break up the black panel on the cardfront. I wrapped a piece of red ribbon around the card, knotting it underneath the sentiment. Simple, but still eye-catching.
Materials Used:
August Kit of the Month (Unity Stamp Co.); Real Red Classic ink, Basic Black cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); white cardstock (Xerox); Black Tie designer paper (Making Memories); black button, twine (Papertrey Ink); Labels 9 die (Spellbinders); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); foam tape
Really cute card... I like the color contrast of the red up against the white and black!
