Smiles from the Sea

Here's my card for today's SCS sketch challenge. It features an image from the Juniper and Jupiter Go to the Beach collection from Starving Artistamps along with the new Build a Cloud stamp.

I stamped the "beach babe" image on a piece of white cardstock, colored her in, and cut the colored image out. The dots on her bathing suit are filled in with a white gel pen--much easier than trying to leave the tiny areas white when I was coloring . . . I placed the colored image on a background stamped with the Build a Cloud stamp. I inked the stamp in Versamark, stamped it randomly on a white panel, then dabbed on some shimmery chalks for a fun look. The sandy beach is made from torn strips of kraft cardstock, layered and brushed with some white pigment ink. I added a button-embellished felt sun to domplete the scene. The "smiles from the sea" sentiment is stamped alongside the image.

I used a trio of coordinating sunny-looking designer paper scraps for the fanned paper trio beneath the image--great way to use some of these up. I attached a button to the straight edge to add a little interest.

In other Starving Artistamps news, if you 're a DoodleFactory fan, be sure to stop by the gallery and website to check out the latest addition to the DoodleFactory line. You won't be disappointed!
