Here’s my card for the third sketch. I made a fun, festive birthday card featuring the balloon images and a coordinating sentiment from the Birthday Bash set. The balloons were stamped on scraps of white cardstock and cut out, then attached to a blue panel with foam tape.
I took my color scheme from the KaiserCraft dotted paper I used to cover most of the cardfront. The colors on the paper are a bit more muted, but I like the bright pop of color from the balloons. I used a coordinating grosgrain ribbon for the strip that runs down most of the cardfront and added a bow made with my Bow Easy.
Materials Used:
Birthday Bash stamp set (Verve Stamps); white cardstock (Couture Cardstock); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Spring Moss and Hibiscus Burst cardstock, Spring Moss grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); Baja Breeze cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); designer paper (KaiserCraft); Bow Easy; foam tape
Here’s card number four. I inked up the Framed Wishes set for the first time for the focal image on this one. The frame is stamped in Ripe Avocado ink on a Spring Moss panel. The sentiment seemed lost with all of the other patterns I had going on, so I stamped it on a smaller moss panel, then stitched it to an avocado panel and used foam tape to place it inside the frame.
I used a pair of patterned papers from DCWV’s Café Mediterranean matstack for the cardfront. A varnish textured one covers most of the cardfront and a coordinating striped one is used for one of the accent panels. I added a decorative border piece to one edge of the striped panel, stitching it on with my sewing machine (already had the machine out and ready to go . . .). A strip of ribbon with a pretty bow is the only other embellishment.
Materials Used:
Framed Wishes stamp set (Verve Stamps); Ripe Avocado ink, Ripe Avocado and Spring Moss cardstock, Ripe Avocado grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); Bashful Blue cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Café Mediterranean matstack (DCWV); circle dies (Spellbinders); Deco Scallop border punch (EK Success); sewing machine; foam tape; Bow Easy
And, here’s the fifth and final card. This one came together so quickly with the help of some ribbon scraps.
I started with a panel of paper from the same Café Mediterranean matstack, then found a trio of coordinating ribbon strips to use for the panels on the sketch. I tried to find a mix of textures and widths to add interest. I arranged the ribbon strips and secured them, then layered on a pair of coordinating cardstock panels. One of the sentiments from the Always on My Mind set is stamped on the moss panel.
I stamped one of the solid flower images from the Great Friend set on a scrap of white cardstock and cut it out, then layered it on the card using foam tape. I used a scrap of Ripe Avocado cardstock to make the little leaves to attach underneath the flower. Dots of Liquid Pearls on the flower were a last minute addition (which I somehow brushed my hand against and got on one of my camera’s buttons—it took a while for me to figure out what sticky substance was on the button . . .) to add just a little sparkle and shine. I think this one may be my favorite of the bunch.
