Blogger Challenge: Week 177/Friends with Flair

This week’s blogger challenge is a sketch challenge. I pulled out some new goodies from i {heart} papers for my interpretation of the sketch.

I used Unity’s new Matching Socks kit for my focal image. I love these fun, whimsical mismatched socks! If my Chloe the cutie puppy doesn’t stop sifting through the laundry basket and stealing my socks, soon all of my pairs of socks are going to look like this mismatched one—LOL! The socks are colored with Copic markers to coordinate with the colors in the My Mind’s Eye paper panel I used behind the image. The paper is from one of MME’s new 6x6 pads. They’re perfect for cardmakers.

The rest of the layout is simply strips of paper and ribbon, also picked to match the colors in the patterned paper. I used a strip of orange corduroy ribbon as the top strip to add some texture, then used different shades of blue beneath it. The sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the card in black ink.

For more projects based on this sketch, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, visit the list of Friends with Flair players on the Unity blog.
