You're a Hoot

Here’s my card for this week’s There She Goes sketch challenge. I used the fun You’re a Hoot set for my card based on the sketch.

I started by stamping the solid branch image on a cream panel. Once I had the branch in place, I picked one of the line image owls to color to set on the branch. I stamped the own on a scrap of cream cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out. It’s set on the branch with foam tape.

I used a pair of patterned papers from KaiserCraft’s Up, Up, and Away pad on the cardfront. I went with my favorite dots and stripes pattern combination. The yellow panel is embossed with a dot pattern to add interest and texture. I wrapped a piece of matching grosgrain ribbon around the embossed panel, finishing it off with a button embellished bow at the bottom. I set the image panel in place—there are lots of layers going on here—then slid the sentiment panel underneath it.

Materials Used:
You’re a Hoot stamp set (There She Goes); Buttercream cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Rich Cocoa ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Pumpkin Spice and Sweet Corn cardstock (Gina K Designs); Creamy Caramel cardstock, So Saffron grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); Up, Up, and Away designer paper (KaiserCraft); Dark Chocolate button, twine (Papertrey Ink); circle punches (EK Success); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); foam tape
