Blogger Challenge: Week 180
This week’s blogger challenge is to create a Christmas ornament. Since I don’t celebrate Christmas, I almost passed this one up. But, I was inspired by one of Jessica’s projects for a recent Paper Craft Planet/Stampendous holiday feature and created a simple ornament to share today using her directions as a guide.
I used the snowflake image from the new Icons I set from Clear and Simple Stamps for the ornament. I stamped the image in silver ink on A Blanc Check cardstock and cut it out. It’s layered on a square of True Blue Fan cardstock, then on a brushed silver panel.
I used a clear glue to attach the layered cardstock panels to the bottom of a clear acrylic block—the same kind you use with clear stamps. I picked up the block at the dollar section of the craft store. To dress it up, I ran ScorTape along the block’s edges, then attached matching navy blue ribbon to the edges. The ribbon is knotted at the top of the block and again at the ribbon’s ends so it can be hung up.
For more Christmas ornament ideas, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right.
Materials Used:
Icons I stamp set, True Blue Fan and A Blanc Check cardstock, ScorTape (Clear and Simple Stamps); silver ink (Encore); Not Quite Navy grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); glue
