Blogger Challenge: Week 182/Friends with Flair
This week’s blogger challenge is a sketch with lots of circles. I used one of Unity’s new kits, Sunny Happy Skies, and some fun patterned papers for my interpretation of the sketch.
I paper pieced the kit’s hot air balloon image snowflake with some striped patterned paper from the My Mind’s Eye Fine and Dandy True Blue pad. I added it to a pale blue circle background with foam tape. The clouds represent the sketch’s trio of small circle elements. To add interest, I stamped two on blue cardstock and embossed them with a dotted pattern, then edged them with some Stickles and the third is stamped on shimmery white cardstock.
The cardfront is covered with some striped paper from Crate Paper’s Snow Day line. I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine to break up some of the blue. A strip of light blue faux suede ribbon, layered over coordinating cardstock panels, runs across the card. I stamped the “flying high” sentiment from one of Unity’s early Stampin’ Store Kits beneath the ribbon strip using black ink. If you’re looking for Stampin’ Store kits, be sure to check out i {heart} papers.
For more ideas based on this sketch, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, stop by the Unity blog for the full list of Friends with Flair players.
Before you go, I have one last piece of news. Did you know that today (Friday) is National Free Shipping Friday? I didn’t know such a thing existed, but it really does. So, IHP is offering FREE SHIPPING ON ALL US orders (no minimums!) and 50% off on Canadian shipping. All other international customers will be invoiced for full shipping charges. Sorry! (Canadian customers PLEASE READ: When you enter the code it will zero out your shipping but Kate will invoice you for the 50% off. It’s a limitation of the shopping cart and it can’t place country restrictions on promotional codes.) Please use promo code: freeshipdt.
