Winter Wishes

Here’s my card for this week’s Viva la Verve challenge. I completed the sketch with wintery, snow-themed colors and elements to match the weather we’re having outside.

I used three papers from Echo Park’s Wintertime collection for my card. I picked a simple polka dot for the panel that covers most of the cardfront and used the smaller scaled snowflakes and white flourishes on a red background for the two panels on the cardfront. These are layered on Blue Bayou cardstock for a nice contrast.

There’s very little stamping on this card, just the “winter wishes” sentiment from Verve’s Snow Wonderful set. I accented the sentiment with a pair of layered buttons—a snowflake and a blue one—joined with some baker’s twine. Some pretty red seam binding is knotted beneath the sentiment panel for a bold finish.

Materials Used:
Snow Wonderful stamp set (Verve Stamps); Riding Hood Red Classic ink, Riding Hood Red, Blue Bayou, and Soft Sky cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Wintertime Collection Kit (Echo Park); petite oval dies (Spellbinders); Ladybug seam binding (Martha Stewart); snowflake button (Blumenthal Lansing); blue button, baker’s twine (Papertrey Ink); clear crystals (Imaginisce)
