Stir Crazy

Here's my card for this week's There She Goes challenge to creatively combine two or more TSG sets. The challenge is called "odd couple" and my combo's not likely to be judged as too odd or too creative, but I like how it turned out. I mixed images from the Drink a Day set with a sentiment from the Chemistry set for my fun card.

I built the drink image first, stamping the glass, then the stirrer, then the lime slice. The image is colored with Copic markers. It's hard to see in the photo, but I traced the top edge of the glass with a thin-tipped glue pen and sprinkled on some glitter for a sugar-coated look. I stamped the sentiment on a smaller circle and colored in the dotted outline heart for a pop of color. Both panels were matted on black circles and arranged on the cardfront over a red panel edged with a black scalloped border. To balance the design, I added a black button, tied with some baker's twine, to the edge of the red strip opposite the circle panels. Clean and simple--and fun, too!

Materials Used:
A Drink a Day and Chemistry stamp sets (There She Goes); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Real Red and Basic Black cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!); circle dies (Spellbinders); medium scallop border die, black grosgrain ribbon, black button, baker's twine (Papertrey Ink)
