Friends with Flair: City of Love Valentine

Happy Friday! I figured I'd squeeze in one more Valentine's Day card for Friends with Flair before the holiday passed. I used the fun City of Love kit for my acetate card. Sorry about the bad angle of the photo--I had a hard time getting a low-glare shot any other way.

I built a cityscape on the inside of my card using the kit's building images stamped twice on white cardstock. I cut out around the buildings, shaded them a little with a pale Copic marker and filled in the hearts with a bold red, then attached them to a piece of Echo Park patterned paper. It doesn't show well in the photo, but the front set of buildings is popped up with dimensional dots to add depth to the scene. Also on the inside of the card, a felt cloud floats above the buildings.

On the outside, I attached the kit's blimp image. I meant to add some red Stickles to the heart, but forgot before the photo, so imagine they're there, okay? The blimp's attached with thicker dimensional dots to really pop up. The sentiment is stamped on a solid red cardstock strip with scalloped edges that I attached to the bottom of the acetate panel. Some red striped twill ribbon is wrapped around the top of the card and knotted at the side.

Be sure to visit the Unity blog for the full list of FWF players. You don't want to miss out on all that Unity inspiration--and a chance to win free stamps, too, if you find the FWF blinkie!
