The image is colored with Copic markers. There was a little ink bleed on the bottom of her apron, so I did some paper piecing to hide the mess. I actually liked the paper piecing better, so I guess it was a happy accident.
I used two different patterns from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker line on the cardfront. I went with a floral print and a plaid that shared a red tone to tie them together. The floral print paper's edge was cut with a scallop die for the fancy edge and a coordinating solid panel is layered underneath it. After arranging the patterned paper panels on the cardfront, I knotted an aqua satin ribbon around the seam between the two designs. I added the image panel to the card, layered on a red panel with stitched edges to add some interest without including an additional pattern to the mix. The "what's cooking" sentiment is stamped on a tiny tag and tied to the knotted ribbon with a piece of twine.
Materials Used:
a la modes What's Cooking stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Poppy Parade cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist satin ribbon, large scallop edge die, twine (Papertrey Ink); Modern Homemaker designer paper (October Afternoon); petite oval dies (Spellbinders); tag punch (Fiskars); sewing machine
