Friends with Flair: Blue Balloon
Happy Friday! Here’s my project for this week’s Friends with Flair. I went monochromatic, combining this week’s Mojo Monday sketch with images from Unity’s Bella Blvd. co-branded Sunny Happy Skies kit.
My card’s on the clean and simple side, using some pale blue polka dotted paper as a sky background for the kit’s hot air balloon image. The image was stamped on white cardstock in gray ink for a soft look, then colored with Copic markers and cut out. I used dimensional dots to attach the balloon to the panel and just glued the basket directly to the patterned paper.
I set the dotted panel on another piece of patterned paper from the same Echo Park Little Girl collection kit. The panel’s edges are machine stitched, mirroring the paper’s stitch-like pattern. A strip of light blue faux suede ribbon stretches over the panel, dressed up with a bow made with my Bow Easy. I replaced the sketch’s circle element with one of the kit’s cloud images, again stamped in gray and shaded with Copic markers. I added some Crystal Stickles around the edges for just a bit of sparkle.
