To My Core
Here’s my card for today’s SCS sketch challenge. I combined the sketch with the colors from this week’s Color Throwdown—red, yellow, cream, and black—and the apple image from the Paper Smooches Falling for You set.
I colored the apple using Copic markers. After coloring it, I cut it out and set it on a cream panel using foam tape. The “love you to my core” sentiment is stamped underneath the apple.
I used two different patterned papers for the panels underneath the apple panel. Each is matted on a coordinating solid cardstock and machine stitched around the edges. The image panel is layered over the patterned papers. A strip of yellow grosgrain ribbon is looped underneath the image panel. A red button, tied with black and white baker's twine, sits at the bottom edge of the image panel. The panels are attached to a yellow panel, then a red card base for a bright, cheery look.
Materials Used: Falling for You stamp set (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Very Vanilla, Daffodil Dash, Riding Hood Red, and Basic Black cardstock, Daffodil Dash grosgrain ribbon (Stampin' Up!); Flower Shower matstack (DCWV); Modern Homemaker patterned paper (October Afternoon); Pure Poppy button (Papertrey Ink); black baker's twine (Divine Twine); sewing machine; foam tape
