Home Tweet Home

This week's Color Throwdown colors--Soft Sky, Kraft, and orange--were inspired by the colors in the Stella and Rose Mabel paper pad. Mine was on order earlier this week, so as soon as it arrived, I pulled it out to make this spring-feeling card.

I used the new The Tweetest Thing stamp set and matching Home Tweet Home CutUps die from The Cat's Pajamas for my card. The branch and birdhouse images are both die cut from kraft cardstock. The coordinating images are stamped with a matching ink. I set them on a blue dotted panel. To make it look like it's hanging from the branch, I used some linen twine, looped and knotted, to "attach" the bird house to the branch. The little heart shaped opening in the house is backed with a scrap of orange cardstock and covered with glitter.

To add a different texture, I cut the bird from pale blue felt. I added a clear crystal for its eye, then attached it to the scene with foam tape.

I layered the scene on an orange mat, then set it on a piece of patterned paper from that Mabel paper pad. A strip of orange grosgrain ribbon, dressed up with a button-embellished bow, runs along the left side of the image. The set's "home tweet home" sentiment is stamped on a little rounded edge tab and slipped underneath the image panel.
