Blogger Challenge: Week 209

This week’s blogger challenge theme is things with wings. One of my current favorite sets, Tweet Notes from Clear and Simple Stamps, was a perfect fit for this one!

I used the set’s bird cage image and little bird image here, stamping the open line bird image first, then filling it in with the solid image in a bold orange. So that the bird wasn’t floating in mid-air, I used the set’s tiny solid line image, curved just a bit, to stamp a little “seat” for my feathered friend. For a little more color, a single small music note is stamped near the bird in orange.

I attached a piece of bold chevron patterned paper to a red mat, then layered it on a Creamsicle Cardigan card base. After layering the bird on a red panel, I set it on the card on top of the patterned paper and added a piece of baker’s twine extending from the top of the bird cage image to the top of the card to look like it was suspending the bird cage. I dressed it up with a little bow just at the top of the cage. The set’s “I miss you” sentiment is stamped in black on a white notch-edged panel and slipped under the edge of the image panel.
