Meet Me Poolside
Here's my summer-inspired card for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge. This week's challenge was to "get edgy" with a fancy border punch or some torn cardstock.
I went with one of my favorite ways to make a sandy beach--tearing a piece of kraft cardstock and gently inking the piece with pigment ink. The two sandy pieces are set on a soft blue panel serving as either the water or sky--whichever your prefer! I colored the flip flop pair from the Chillaxin' set from Market Street Stamps and added that to the scene with foam tape. It's hard to see in the photo, but the little hearts on the shoes are accented with some Stickles. I stamped the "meet me poolside" sentiment in pink ink just above the flip flops.
After layering the scene on a pink mat for a nice pop of color, I set it on a blue card base with a festive striped cardstock panel along the bottom. The last element was a felt/button sun, completing the summery picture.
Materials Used:
Chillaxin stamp set (Market Street Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Paint the Town Pink ink (Clear and Simple Stamps); Vintage Cream ink, Hawaiian Shores cardstock, Lemon Tart button, Harvest Gold felt (Papertrey Ink); Crumb Cake and Melon Mambo cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Lime Twist-Happy Go Lucky Perfect designer paper (My Mind’s Eye); sun die (My Favorite Things); yellow baker’s twine (The Twinery); silver brads (Making Memories); Pink Stickles (Ranger); foam tape
