TCP Release Blog Hop/TCP Tues 165

Welcome to your next stop on The Cat's Pajamas release blog hop. You should have arrived here from Susan’s blog. If not, head to Leigh’s blog to start at the top—you don’t want to miss any of the TCP goodness! In addition to showing off the new releases, we’re also using the sketch for this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge. Be sure to play along for a chance to win some Cat's Cash--you’re going to need it to help you get all the stamps you know you want from this release . . .

If you’re a regular reader here, you know I have a *slight* bunny obsession, so this release was a dream come true for me. I had a hard time picking just one to highlight with the sketch for this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge! In the end, I went with this sweet butterfly-chasing one from the Flutter By set. I colored the bunny just a bit with Copic markers and added a fluffy cottontail courtesy of a little white flock, then cut out the image. I set the bunny on a little scene made from a dot embossed oval with a green felt grass bottom. My “stuff” covers most of the grass top, but I promise it was cut with the CutUps grass die! I added a pair of clouds cut from the CutUps Cloud Border strip—like I said, I can’t put this die down! The bunny’s attached with some foam tape.

I used a combination of three different patterned papers for the panels on the cardfront—one dotted, one striped, and one floral—for a nice mix and even included a little machine stitching on two of the panels. The bunny needed a butterfly to “catch,” so I die cut one from pink cardstock using one of the dies from the Mini Exotic Butterflies set. I spritzed it with some shimmer spray for a sparkly look and added a matching vellum butterfly (also die cut) underneath it to give the appearance of movement. The butterfly is only attached to the card at its center so the wings can be folded back. I stamped the “just fluttering by” sentiment on a pink strip and added that to the card over the floral patterned paper.

Now, hop on to your next stop-- Linda. You won't want to miss the good things she has in store for you . . .
