Driving By

Here's my card for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge. The sketch's rectangle panel was a perfect fit for the cute convertible from the Half Pint Heroes set.

I stamped the car on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out. It's layered on a blue panel with a gray "road" at the bottom. I stamped one of the set's face images on a scrap of white, colored it in and cut it out, then attached it to the blue panel. The car's headlights and windshield are coated with Glossy Accents for a glass-like look and the hubcaps are painted with Smooch paint for a metallic shine. I replaced the trio of round elements above the panel with a white felt cloud.

I used two coordinating patterned papers for the strip along the left side of the card and for the large panel covering most of the cardfront. I edged the dotted panel with a star border strip before layering it on the plaid panel. It's hard to see in the photo, but I machine stitched around the edge of the plaid paper before attaching it to the card base. The set's "driving by saying hi" is stamped just underneath the image panel--it's a close fit, but it works!
