Our Craft Lounge Sneak Peek Blog Hop

Welcome to the first day of sneak peeks for Our Craft Lounge’s release Blog Hop! We’ve got a big hop planned for you on Friday, but for today and tomorrow, OCL designers will be sharing sneak peeks of some of the new sets.

My card features the new Beyond the Universe set. I used this week’s Clean and Simple Stamping sketch, plus an older Colour Q color combo to show it off. The bold color scheme makes for a perfect child’s birthday card.

The rocket is colored with Copic markers and cut out. I added a little sparkle to the flame behind the rocket with a Spica glitter pen. For a fun outer space background--and more sparkle--I embossed a turquoise panel with a dotted pattern, then sprayed it with a little shimmer spritz before using dimensional dots to set the rocket in place. The sentiment is stamped on a strip of yellow patterned paper with red dots. I accented it with a trio of white star brads. The two panels are set off from each other with a strip of red twill. The final touch was covering the rocket’s window with a coating of Glossy Accents. I’ve learned that leaving this to the end lessens my chances of smearing the sticky stuff all over the card . . .

Be sure to stop by the Our Craft Lounge blog for a list of all of the designers participating in today’s sneak peeks. And, don’t forget to leave comments to be entered into a drawing for some fabulous blog candy. Winners will be announced on the OCL blog and Facebook page on Saturday morning.
