All Star

The theme for today's SCS clean and simple challenge is shoes. Instead of going girly, I went for a more masculine look with the sneaker pair from the A Guy Thing stamp set from Clear and Simple Stamps. The sneaker image worked perfectly with this week's Clean and Simple Stamping sketch.

I stamped the image in black ink on a scrap of red cardstock, then cut the image out. I set it aside to stamp the star background builder strip from the Rock-a-Bye set in blue ink on a white panel, then used foam tape to attach the shoes to the panel. I did a little creative stamping of a pair of sentiments from the Icon Extras set to come up with the "all star" sentiment, also stamped in blue. It's accented with a red star brad.

After layering the panel on a blue mat for some contrast, I set it on a white card base. It's one more layer than on the original sketch, but I think it's still clean and simple even with the extra layer.
