Flashback Fun

This week’s Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge was to pull out one of your first Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps and put it to use. I used my Moonlight Whispers Pretty Poison image for this Halloween card based on this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

I started with a piece of black paper with purple and orange dots. After machine stitching around the edges (after a brief delay to add thread to my empty white bobbin, then rethread my sewing machine . . .), I attached the panel to a purple card base. After setting a coordinating orange panel on the cardfront, I layered on the accent strips, using a piece of orange ribbon to add texture and a pinking edged strip, cut with my new Edgeabilities die (Kate just got a bunch of new Spellbinders stuff in stock here!). The purple panel is set on top of all of these pieces.

Once all that assembly was done, I worked on the image. She’s colored with Copic markers and carefully cut out. I used foam tape to attach the image to the purple panel, then added the sentiment strip, stamped in white on a black panel. The sentiment's from a newer set, but I couldn't resist!

Materials Used:
Moonlight Whispers Pretty Poison and Potionmaster stamp sets (Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers and Pink Spica pen (Copic); Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Halloween designer paper (Recollections); orange grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities (Spellbinders); orange buttons; linen thread (The Cat's Pajamas); sewing machine; foam tape
