Pacific Cherry Peacock
So maybe no peacocks that look quite like this exist in real life, but it works for me! I made this card for this week’s SCS sketch challenge and this week’s Color Throwdown challenge—Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, and Black.
I stamped the large peacock from Our Craft Lounge’s Proud as a Peacock set on a white panel, then used red and blue Copic markers to color the image. The feathers are filled in with some red crystals for a fun sparkle. I stamped the set’s “have a magical day” sentiment in the open area on the panel, then layered the image on a black panel to set it off.
To accommodate the image, I rotated the sketch to a portrait orientation. I used a piece of red paper with a star pattern to cover most of the cardfront, adding a solid, diagonal blue panel edged in black across the center. For an elegant touch, I tied a piece of black satin ribbon around the cardfront before attaching the image panel. The knot sits just underneath the image panel.
I’m off to enjoy the last night of one of my summer guilty pleasures—Big Brother! I made sure to take Chloe the cutie puppy to doggy day care today so she’d be extra tired from a full day of play and I could kick back and watch the show without her special brand of assistance . . . I’ll be back in the morning with more crafty stuff.
Materials Used:
Proud as a Peacock stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic-R35, R37, R39, B12, B14, B16, E33); Pacific Point, Cherry Cobbler, and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Homemade 6 Bean Soup 6x6 paper pad (Jillibean Soup); red self-adhesive crystals (Recollections); black satin ribbon (Michaels)

This is a really pretty image! I love the sketch too, it's so bold and just sets off this peacock perfectly! Great card Lori!
