Baby Boy

Here’s my card for this week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use looped or tabbed ribbons on your project. This super quick project uses looped ribbon as a part of the focal image.

I used the Notched Tag set from My Favorite Things for the little tag. I die cut the notched tag from white cardstock, then stamped the outline image and “baby boy” sentiment in gold ink. To decorate the tag, I die cut the tiny chick from gold felt and added that above the sentiment. I used the tiniest pearl I could find to make an eye for the chick.

Once the tag was done, I assembled the rest of the card. I embossed the bottom part of an aqua card base with a dotted pattern. To coordinate, I cut a yellow dotted strip to go across the card. I looped a piece of turquoise satin ribbon around the patterned paper strip, anchoring it with the notched tag. A coordinating button, tied with baker’s twine, sits at the top of the tag. This would be an easy card to mass produce—and a few color changes would make it either gender-neutral or girly.
