Sunny Day
***Scroll down to the post below to see my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.**
It was pretty dreary and rainy here today, so that calls for a bright, sunshiney type of card, doesn’t it? I think this sunflower themed one based on today’s SCS sketch challenge fits the bill perfectly!
I used the new Fall Sunflower set from Our Craft Lounge as the focal image. To get a slightly smaller sized flower, I omitted the bottom pair of leaves when I stamped the image. I colored it with Copic markers, filling in the flower’s center with some Brown Sugar Sparkly Fluff.
The rest of the card’s pretty simple. I paired the image with some cheery yellow gingham paper, layered on a gold mat with a decorative edge that I cut with two different Edgeabilities dies. I used another patterned paper for the large panel at the right side of the card, picking a design with the same gold color in it to tie the panels together. The "have a sunny day" sentiment is stamped along the bottom of the card.
Don’t forget about the special Swimming for Katie event currently going on. Today’s the last day of the three day inspirational blog hop featuring images designed especially for this event to benefit Katie Renz and her family. You can get all the details about the event here, including a list of participating bloggers, previews of all the products available, and links for purchases and donations.
