Tis the Season

Now that Halloween’s over, preparations for the winter holiday season are gearing up. With that in mind, I have a quick and easy holiday project to share for this week's Ribbon Carousel challenge using the new Trendy Tags and Taglines sets from Clear and Simple Stamps.

I die cut the large tag from the Tags 1 die set from Kraft Like a Rockstar cardstock, then stamped the matching solid line image on the tag in Haute Red Couture ink. I randomly stamped the little snowflake/sparkle images from the Taglines set in white ink on the top half of the tag. On the bottom half, I attached a piece of red and white gingham paper and ran a strip of lace tape along the top of the patterned paper strip. The “tis the season” sentiment is stamped in red just above the top of the lace.

I attached the tag to a festive candy cane using some Dare to Be a Diva Red satin ribbon looped around the candy and a matching red button and baker's twine to secure it. After taking a final look at the project, I decided it needed just a little sparkle, so I went back and dotted the center of each snowflake with my clear Stardust glitter pen. It would be easy to make up a bunch of these to give out as little thinking of you gifts or even as stocking stuffers—or to use as an add on to dress up a gift of a pretty coffee mug.

For more CSS inspiration, be sure to check out the CSS iPhone/iTouch app. A new project is shared daily, complete with step by step instructions. Here’s a sneak peek of my project that you can see on the app today. You can get all the info on downloading the app here.
