Celebrate the Season

Here’s a super clean and simple seasonal card that’s both easy to reproduce and to mail. With the holidays coming up quickly, it’s good to have a few ideas like this in mind for creating cards.

I started off by using my square punch to make a trio of “windows” in a white cardstock panel. A little hint for lining the squares up relatively evenly is to punch squares out of sticky notes, then place them on the card where you’d like to make the openings, then punch away!

I set the window piece on top of a blue panel, then stamped the snowflake image from the Icons I set from Clear and Simple Stamps in sparkly silver ink through the openings on to the blue panel. The “celebrate the season” sentiment is stamped underneath the snowflake trio. This sentiment stamp is available for free through the end of December with a purchase at the Clear and Simple Stamps online store (or as part of the larger Let's Celebrate set that's a gift to customers who spend $100 or more).

The white panel’s adhered to the blue panel with foam tape. I added a clear crystal to the center of each flake as an accent, then set the panels on a white card base. It wouldn't take long at all to make a bunch of these in a variety of colors.

For more CSS inspiration, be sure to check out the CSS iPhone/iTouch app. A new project is shared daily, complete with step by step instructions. Here’s a sneak peek of my project that will be shown on the app tomorrow. You can get all the info on downloading the app here. And, be sure to stop back here on Tuesday for the team’s monthly group project to get more ideas for using the Let’s Celebrate set.

Materials Used:
Let’s Celebrate and Icons I stamp sets, Your Favorite Blue Jeans and A Blanc Check cardstock (Clear and Simple Stamps); Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); square punch (EK Success); foam tape
