Blogger Challenge: Week 242

This week’s blogger challenge theme is “in bloom.” We’ve had such a mild winter around here that just this week when Chloe the cutie puppy and I were out walking, I noticed that one of the cherry trees in my neighborhood is already just about ready to bloom. Even though it’s nice to see a sign of spring, it’s way too early for that to be happening! So, with those first signs of spring fresh in mind, I created this clean and simple—and sweet-- spring-feeling design for the challenge using stamps from Our Craft Lounge.

I stamped a trio of different sized flowers from the Build-a-Bouquet stamp set in lilac ink on a dotted paper, then added green faux stitched “stems” to ground them. I dotted the center of each flower with a self-adhesive pearl for a little dimension. The “you’re bloomin’ fabulous!” sentiment from the Say it with Flowers set fit nicely in the open space next to the flower trio.

A green border punched grass strip sits at the bottom of the panel. I wrapped the strip with some olive baker’s twine, securing it with a dainty bow. Beneath the grass strip, I added a coordinating piece of striped patterned paper that caught my eye from my scrap pile. The purples, blues, and greens coordinated perfectly with the rest of my card.
