Ticket to My Heart
Here’s a sweet Valentine’s Day card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I combined a fun ticket die cut and a mix of patterned papers plus a few vintage elements to put this one together.
I replaced one of the sketch’s rectangle panels with a red ticket cut with the CutUps Big Ticket die. I used the matching Admit One stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas to decorate the ticket before setting it on the cardfront. I used three coordinating patterned papers from the My Mind’s Eye Love Me paper pad for the rest of the panels on the card.
A strip of kraft ribbon stretches across the center of the card. I layered a pair of die cuts made with TCP’s Circus Panels CutUps dies at middle of the ribbon and stamped the “ticket to my heart” sentiment on the smaller die cut piece.
I was going to call it quits, but the design seemed a little plain, so I went back and added a little lace trim along the bottom edge of the kraft ribbon and stuck in a pair of pretty pearl trinket pins for good measure. I have a hard time using vintage-y embellishments like that, but they seemed to work okay here and add a needed interesting detail to the card.
Materials Used:
Admit One stamp set, CutUps Big Ticket and Circus Panels dies (The Cat’s Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black and Rhubarb Stalk inks (Tsukineko); Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Love Me 6x6 paper pad (My Mind’s Eye); Kraft grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); lace trim (Michaels); pearl trinket pins (Maya Road)
