Blogger Challenge: Week 246
This week’s blogger challenge is to go 3-D. With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, I decided to use the challenge to make a seasonal project along those lines. After a little thought I came up with this mini hat treat holder.
This little hat was easy to make with a strip of paper made into a cylinder and attached to a circular base, all securely adhered with some i {stick} papers redline tape. To make the basic form a little more hat-like, I fashioned a gold buckle from a gold scalloped square and threaded a bit of black crepe ribbon through the buckle, then attached the buckled strip to the hat.
The hat’s left open so it can be filled with treats. After filling a cello bag with some gold candy coins, I added a tag made with images from the Abracadabra set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. GRS is a new addition to the lineup at i {heart} papers and if you’re a fan of Lizzie Anne Designs, you may just find some of your old favorites (and some new things in the same classic LAD style) among the offerings at IHP. I colored the rainbow image with Copic markers and added a little Stickles to the clouds at either end of the rainbow, then stamped the sentiment verse beneath it. To dress up the tag, I added a scalloped strip of green plaid patterned paper along the bottom. It’s tied to the bag with more of the black crepe ribbon I used on the hat.
