Enjoy Your Special Day
Debbie Corbari, one of the talented illustrators for Our Craft Lounge, is celebrating a birthday today. So, in her honor, our theme for this week’s OCL challenge is birthday cards. I made sure to use one of the sets illustrated by Debbie for my card.
Here’s my feminine birthday card using the Big Birthday Wishes set and this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I used a pretty floral print panel to cover most of the cardfront. A strip of solid green cardstock with a notched end runs across the cardfront with a piece of rosy ribbon stretched along the top edge of the panel. I layered half of a pink on pink dotted circle on top of a delicate loop-edged die cut piece and set that on the card peeking up from behind the top of the green strip.
For the image panel, I stamped the “enjoy your special day” sentiment from the Big Birthday Wishes set in pink ink on a pale pink die cut tag. After attaching a small button-embellished bow to the top of the tag, I set it on the cardfront at an angle. For a final feminine touch, I added a trio of self-adhesive pearls along the bottom edge of the green strip.
I hope you'll join the OCL team in wishing Debbie a happy birthday--and in playing along with this week's challenge, too. There's a stamp set up for grabs for a randomly selected participant from this month's challenge entries. Check out all the challenge details and this week's entries on the OCL blog.
