Somebunny's Inspired

The current Lawnscaping challenge is to create a project inspired by something you’ve seen somewhere—another blog, Pinterest, a catalog, or wherever. It just so happened that I got a Pier 1 flyer in my newspaper the other day and I always find these a great source for inspiration. I based this simple card on this fun little bunny-clad kitchen towel towel. I just love that cottontailed bunny!

I used a green card base in a nod to the towel’s color. The focal image panel features the bunny from the Critters in the Burbs set, shaded a little with Copic markers and set on some stamped grass. I added a little white flock to the bunny’s tail and attached it to the background with dimensional dots.

Inspired by the ric rac strips along the bottom edge of the towel, I arranged a bunch of different ribbon scraps along the right side of the card, making sure that one was a piece of ric rac. I’ve used layouts like this before with patterned paper—it’s a great way to use up assorted coordinating scraps. After I put the bunny panel in place, I added a little felt cloud at the top of the panel and a button threaded with green baker’s twine at the bottom. The “some bunny loves you” sentiment from the My Silly Valentine set fits nicely along the bottom of the card.

Kate’s got lots of new (and classic!) Lawn Fawn in stock at i {heart} papers—along with lots of other new goodies—so be sure to stop in and take a look. And, don’t forget about our current inspiration challenge at IHP. You can find all the details here.
